Teaching Self-acupuncture

Venue:  BMAS House, Northwich, Cheshire  (South Manchester)

A course designed to equip practitioners with the skills to teach patients and/or their carers to use Self-Acupuncture.

Teaching Self-Acupuncture can enable practitioners to better manage their caseload and facilitate self-management by patients.

Covers related issues including evidence base, patient selection, care setting, risk reduction, patient information and training, contraindications, precautions, service delivery, follow-up and medicolegal aspects.

Useful in chronic pain management, palliative care and chronic inflammatory diseases, as well as in a range of other conditions such as fibromyalgia, constitutional symptoms, ENT, respiratory, GIT, musculoskeletal, neurology and psychiatric conditions

A one-day course consisting of lectures, small group work sessions, patient/caregiver involvement and demonstrations.

Course led by Max Forrester and Graham Leng.

This is a practical course and is subject to proof of Hepatitis B immunisation showing antibody level or results of a recent blood screen for Hep B surface antigens.  Please read this policy before proceeding:  HEPATITIS B POLICY
